I never even got around to putting this in the blog, but part of my stress over the weekend was about the tent that we ordered from South Africa for the conference, as the meeting hall at SIL is getting too small for everyone. However, our contact in SA who was supposed to put it in a container and get it shipped to us ages ago, did nothing about this. Ultimately he had to put the tent on a truck and have it driven up to us, but until yesterday we didn’t know where exactly the truck was and had no way to communicate with the driver. So basically we were all praying much that the tent would arrive in time, since it would be hard to plan for the Conference with the uncertainty of whether we have it or not. This morning I got the news from Dr Woodrow that the truck is at the border and we need to deposit money before the customs officer can release it. Unfortunately, Dr Woodrow never got cheques for Grace Missions’ metical account, because he didn’t think he would use it for business. As he didn’t have time to deal with this, poor Julie (his wife) had to tag along with me to Standard Bank, where there was much more rigmarole to the procedure than we thought there would be. By late afternoon we were still waiting for someone else who had to approve our request (unusual both because we don’t have a cheque and because it is such a large sum all at once) and now we hope it can be wrapped up tomorrow morning and that it won’t drag out any longer. Ergo: we are so thankful to the Lord for giving us this information and that the tent is practically in Mozambique - but we still need to pray that all will go smoothly at customs and that the truck driver will get it here without incident.
